We loathe to admit it but….summer is winding down in our fair city. While festival season will run through the next couple of months, we suggest making the most of the last hot days of August and attending two of Ottawa’s greatest festivals.
The Lumiere Festival, or Festival of Light, is tomorrow. This is a FREE festival and a great experience. You are invited to bring a lantern, where a costume and enjoy music, arts and culture. The festival begins at 5:00 pm in New Edinburgh Park. There will be performances, vendors and lots of activities for children. Not to be missed! http://lumiereottawa.ca/
The Aboretum Festival begins next week, on Wednesday August 19 and runs through the weekend. This music festival celebrates a diverse array of artists, and includes local, national and international performers. It does NOT take place in Ottawa’s Arborteum, as many expect, but moves locations every year. This year the main stage is on Albert Island, an island that is part of the Chaudiere Islands on the Ottawa River, split between the Quebec and Ontario border. Some of the performers include Flying Horses, Braids, Del Bel, Hayden, Austra and more. http://www.arboretumfestival.com/music/
What has been your favourite festival so far this year??
