Join the National Gallery for the traditional Christmas tree lighting, where friends and family gather to enjoy special treats and activities, taking place December 3 with FREE admission from 5 to 8 pm. The actual lighting will take place at 7 pm and in the meantime you will enjoy these other activities:

  • Art-making activity: Colouring pages aren’t just for kids anymore! We’ve transformed two drawings from Beauty’s Awakening into colouring pages. See the exhibition with your kids, then the whole family can colour their own masterpieces to take home.
  • Take your photo by the tree in our festive frame.
  • Listen to the holiday melodies of Stellae Boreales, Ottawa Suzuki Strings’ premier performance violin ensemble, formed from the school’s senior students.
  • Savour a complimentary hot chocolate and a holiday treat.

And who will get to light the Christmas tree? These and more surprises are in store the evening of 3 December. The tree will be on display until 3 January 2016.

This is a great way to kick off the holiday season!
