It may be a cold one this weekend but that doesn’t mean there aren’t loads of FREE events to take advantage of. Check out a few below:
Crashed Ice – Taking place at the Ottawa Locks on the Rideau Canal, this event is happening today and tomorrow in our very own Ottawa in honour of Canada’s 150th. Tickets are absolutely FREE…well there actually aren’t tickets so you can just show up and enjoy. Gates open at 4 pm this evening with the World Junior Championship taking place at 6 pm. Then tomorrow gates open again at 4 and the Ice Cross Downhill World Finals happen at 6.
Ottawa Art Lending Library – Art lending in Ottawa is back! The first show of 2017 will happen tomorrow, Saturday March 4 in the Outaouais Room at the RA Centre on Riverside Drive from 10 am to 5 pm. A wonderful opportunity to either rent or purchase pieces by area artists OR simply go to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the many works. Admission and parking is completely FREE.
Hair Factory – Taking place at the Beaverbrook library branch at 10:30 am on Saturday, this event will help you learn hair basics….ponytails, braids and more! A great idea for parents, grandparents, caretakers and even children. The class is free and materials will be provided. Children over the age of 5 are welcomed.
Kanata Civic Art Gallery – Running until Saturday, the Kanata Civic Art Gallery’s newest show, Transitions, is not to be missed!
Clicking, Flicking & Tweeting: Social Networking Controversy – Taking place at the Hazeldean library branch on March 7 from 6 to 8 this FREE seminar on social media may help those with concerns about all of the controversy surrounding the explosion of social media sites. With a focus on maintaining privacy this is not to be missed!
