Ottawa’s Top Events of The Week

We are changing our blog format for our posts about events. Instead of posting on Friday we are going to post early in the week to give you a chance to plan ahead. Therefore, we will be including events from all over the city taking place all week long.

Peter Pan & Wendy – Presented by the Ottawa Little Theatre, this play runs until this Saturday December 16 at 7:30 a night. Recommended age of 6+, it is a show that the whole family can enjoy.

Magic of Lights – Takes place all through the holiday season. Magic of Lights is comprised of festive and vibrant LED lighted displays celebrating the joy of the holidays. A “drive through” experience from the comfort of your own car, the Wesley Clover Parks Campground route will be overflowing with spectacular light displays and animations where holiday themes will come to life in sparkling lights.  Magic of Lights is truly a holiday family tradition and will be for years to come. Select proceeds from each carload admission will once again benefit the Ottawa Senator’s Foundation, last year’s event raised over $47,000 for this very deserving charity! Pile everyone in the car and bring them out to see the lights! While you’re there have a look at Crystal Beach and Lakeview Park where we have a great listing at 4 Brookbend Crescent!

Christmas Markets & Fairs – Also taking place all over town are a number of Christmas markets and fairs. All featuring pieces from local artists and vendors…food, crafts, music…and more! Don’t miss the Wakefield Fair this weekend.

Santa Claus Parades – Check out the link for a list of all the Santa Claus and Christmas light parades happening around town!

Winter Wonderland Dance – this youth Christmas Party takes place at the Bronson Centre on December 16 at 11:00 pm. Music, dancing, hot cocoa and dessert bar and so much more! This is a great reason for teenagers to dress up and enjoy themselves in an atmosphere of safety.

Book Signing with Greta Podleski – Co-creator of the Looneyspoons cookbooks will be a Costco Kanata on Saturday from 1 to 3 pm for a book signing of their new cookbook “Yum & Yummer”.

Christmas Impressions – Get into the holiday spirit with the National Capital Concert Band in the Great Hall of the Nationall Gallery this upcoming Sunday at 1:00 pm. This 50 piece brass and wind band will get you to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of preparation for the holidays. Tickets are included in Gallery admission so why not make a day of it and view some of the beautiful exhibitions as well.
