This weekend’s weather is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous so be sure to get out and enjoy one of the many amazing events that Ottawa has to offer before the chillier weather gets here.

A Taste of History – Enjoy a food and wine pairing fit for the ages at Laurier House on Friday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm. Tickets are $98.00 but worth the investment for this unique event. Food will be reminiscent of the history of the two prime minister who inhabited Laurier House and joining you will be Winston Churchill, Shirley Temple and even King George VI.

Marvest 2017 – Marvest is a “Musical Harvest” running September 15th and September 16th in the Glebe on this beautiful sunny weekend! It is a feast of locally produced music for all the senses. All shows are FREE and there is something for everyone. Be sure not to miss it! Check the link for full schedule.

CityFolk Festival 2017 – One of our favourites of festival season, this one takes place all this weekend at Landsdowne Park. It is a four day celebration of music with something for everyone. Artists include a diverse group of musicians from Fred Penner, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats to Broken Social Scene and Allman Rayman. Numerous ways to buy tickets but the easiest is online and there are a bunch of different packages to choose from. Either way you go…you can’t miss it!

Almonte Food & Drink Show – Taking place on Saturday, September 16th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm this event is $20 and celebrates the best food and drink in the lovely village of Almonte and the surrounding areas. Discover the finest wines, the best craft beers and the most delectable food. A great way to spend an afternoon!

Ontario Festival of Small Halls – Running for the next three weeks, this festival is all about sharing a love of music. This brings Canadian musicians to small venues throughout the province. Buying tickets online is a good idea but some may be available at the door. Some artists that will be performing are Rose Cousins, The Outside Track and Leif Vollebekk.
