We are nearing the end of October but there is still plenty going on in the City as we wind down the last few weeks of autumn.
The World Remembers – Taking place at the Government Conference Centre at 2 Rideau Street and having begun Wednesday, this will run for a full month until November 11. To mark the centenary of World War I, the names of all 680,000 killed in the war will be projected in light on the conference centre in remembrance. 11th Annual Great Pumpkin Charity Ball – Proudly supporting The Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing – Ottawa Branch, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and the Ottawa Food Bank this charity ball features live music, DJS, refreshments, costume prizes and more. Taking place on October 28 beginning at 6:00 pm at St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts. Tickets are $40.00.
Swirlicious Fashion Show in Stittsville – the Stittsville United Church is hosting a Swirlicious Fashion Show and Sale in support of the new Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice Centre in Kanata. Taking place on Sunday October 29 at 1:00 pm there will be both a fashion show and sale. The goal of this event and others running through 5 other churches until March 2018 is to raise $50,000 for hospice care in Ottawa. Well worth it to go and support a great cause!
Halloween Hustle with RBC & Kanata BIA – Want to kick off Halloween a few days early!? Head to the RBC branch at 8211 Campeau Drive for Halloween Hustle. Taking place on Sunday October 29 at 1:00 pm, meet at the RBC branch with your children in costume to continue to 14 Kanata businesses where they will participate in fun activities and get lots of treats! The event is completely FREE with a donation to the food bank much appreciated if possible.
