Pianos in the Park in Search of New Piano

UPDATE: We have someone who contacted us about having a piano that would be great for Pianos in the Park. Please contact Bill at wrenkema@cogeco.ca to give him further information about donating.

Do-Re-Mi-for-Kids-Piano-LessonOttawa’s first “piano in the park” was placed in a park in Carp in 2012 and now we have seven pianos in total in parks throughout the city.

Nik Pope, the founder of Ottawa’s program, hopes now to find an eighth piano in tribute of Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie who has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and will be touring one last time this summer.

There are two pianos in Carp, two in Kanata, one in Barrhaven (with another on its way) and one in Landsdowne. Do you have a piano that could be sold or donated to the project? Email pianosinthepark@gmail.com with the information. The piano must be a working piano. Pianos in the Park does minor repairs, paint jobs and tuning but needs a piano that is able to be moved and is in playing condition.
