There is loads to do in Ottawa for FREE this weekend and all of it sounds great! Try one of the events out and let us know what you think.
- Westfest – One of the most awaited festivals in Ottawa, this celebration of Westboro is totally FREE! This weekend from June 3 to 5 in Laroche Park, come and join fellow Ottawans and Westboro residents as they showcase one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Ottawa. Check HERE for a list of the artists that will be performing. On the website there is also an extensive schedule for activities that will have the whole family excited.
- Veg Fest – This event is almost free…admission is by donation only so you can literally give what you’re able and enjoy the festivities! This is the 7th annual Veg Fest for Ottawa with events just like it all across the nation. It is a tradition for local foodies, vegetarians and vegans…for everyone…even the “veg-curious”. Proceeds go to important local charities such as the Ottawa Food Bank.
- Doors Open Ottawa – On Saturday and Sunday explore Ottawa’s culture and architecture for FREE. Doors Open is an annual event where Ottawa’s historically and architecturally significant buildings open their doors to the public for free so we can all have a chance to educate ourselves about our history and our city. There is a shuttle that operates between buildings but many of the buildings are extremely “walkable” as well. Visit the website for the complete list.
- Art of Lending – The Art of Lending is back and has its first show this Saturday, June 4. Completely free to enter and enjoy the show but you can also pick up some art for “rent” or “on loan” for as little as $12 a month. This program makes art more accessible without the associated cost.
