The NCC has decided that the western half of Tunney’s Pasture is its preferred site for the new Civic campus of The Ottawa Hospital. After there was lots of criticism of its decision to build the campus on Experimental Farm lands, the NCC came up with 12 new possible locations and has just announced Tunney’s Pasture as the winner. Many are applauding the NCC for protecting the green space while others are against the expense that Tunney’s Pasture will be. Tunney’s Pasture does have the advantage of great accessibility via public transport as a light rail station will eventually be there as well.
There is still review to be done of the plans and documents before any development begins.
