Ice Sculptures – Located throughout the city on the canal, the Byward Market, Lansdowne Park and various museums as well as Confederation Park. This is an annual favourite for Winterlude attendees.
Bobsleigh, Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding – Taking place at Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau this is a great opportunity to try out a new sport.
Byward Blizzard Snow Art – Come to Ottawa’s historical landmark, food and entertainment district to experience ByWard Blizzard Snow-Art snow sculpture exhibition. Walk through the area to discover the charm of what was once called ByTown and one of Canada’s oldest public markets, while admiring fantastic artworks made of snow! Visitors are invited to watch as artists carve giant blocks of snow to bring them to life. Sculptures will be on display in various locations throughout the Market all throughout Winterlude.
Downtown Rideau Chill Factor, Chill Lounge – As part of Chill Factor, the Chill Lounge is a “cool” space to “chillax” during Winterlude. This winter oasis of evergreen trees, muskoka-style chairs and snow art is a great public space to kick-back to catch some rays, snowflakes or take selfies with your bestie. Grab a coffee on Rideau Street and enjoy music piped outdoor. Download the Chill Factor app to use our souvenir RideauCam frames for your selfies and to see our directory of what’s on, and in, Downtown Rideau.
Ottawa Winter Brewfest – The Ottawa Winter Brewfest returns to Lansdowne Park for the fourth consecutive year. True to form, the Ottawa Winter Brewfest is the ideal place to discover a wide range of Ontario and Quebec craft beers and sample delicious food prepared by local chefs. This year, for the first time, the event will be held in the bigger and better Aberdeen Pavilion in order to accommodate even more breweries and festival-goers! Reserve your spot today for one of the festival’s three sessions. Ages 19 and older. Tickets now on sale.
