The seventh annual One Young World Summit is taking place in Ottawa this year and begins tomorrow and runs until October 1. This is a gathering of our world’s brightest youth hoping to make changes and inspire other youth to join in as well. 1300 people from 18 to 30 will attend this year at the Shaw Centre. The idea is to network, swap ideas, develop ideas and solutions that address global issues. The themes this year are: education, global business, mental health, human rights, peace and security and the environment.
This is a diverse group of people from 196 countries and joining them will be One Young World Counsellors, who are international business leaders, politicians, celebrities and more. This year’s list includes Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Susan Eaton, Harley Finkelstein and Justin Trudeau.
This is the largest gathering of nations next to the Summer Olympic Games and the fact that it is here in Ottawa is a really special thing. Don’t miss out on the chance to attend.
